Trying this out

It's September 2nd, 2009. Life is so full and wonderful. We are so happy that we can depend on God for absolutely everything . Today is our official last day of summer, as William starts first grade tomorrow morning!

Our William will be six in October. I am so proud of him... he can read and write very well. He is very creative and loves games. He is so very social and he is very competitive. I see him being a very good leader.... someday :)

Our Joshua turned 4 in July. He is very easy going and can be everyone's friend, he plays well with everyone. His favorite thing to play with, talk about, look at, read about is dinosaurs. He probably has 20 or more dinosaurs of different sizes and kinds. He had the best time when we went to a couple of museums this summer. He is so funny, for the longest time he has made a guttural sound while saying some words. He has also had a hard time with "F", "Th", "L" sounds. He is working so hard now on speaking all of the sounds correctly. it's great. He also has been writing and doing preschool books. His coloring is wonderful and he is doing really well...learning to write all of the letters.

Our Kathryn is 2 as of February. She is the one girl in the family and such a princess. She loves all things girl... pink and purple, jewelery, and all things princess and dress up. Cracks me up :) She'll still go outside and get dirty. (I used to be the same way!) She talks non-stop and likes to be silly. She likes to sing and say rhymes.

Our Matthew is 4 1/2 months old and he is so big and happy and wonderful. He has been our one needing some extra care... He was born on April 11, 2009, and taken to the NICU at the hospital just a couple of hours after being born. He had breathing issues and a heart murmur... and all of that slowly was resolved before he had got an infection and all sorts of things. After 3 weeks in the NICU they transferred him to the Children's Hospital in LA. During that 3 week stay they found that Matthew had Hirshsprung's disease, (a condition where his large intestine has no nerve cells to make it work properly). They did a surgery and created an ileostomy for now. He is my baby with a special bag. The amazing thing is that with all of the health problems he has had... Matthew seems so very healthy and happy. He weighs 19 1/2 lbs. :) I am amazed at how God has already healed and sustained our boy, and I truly believe that he is going to heal him completely. In October we are again visiting the surgeon, so they can again check his intestine for cells and function, and talk about doing another surgery, as needed. We praise God every day for this wonderful baby he has given to our family, and know with our whole hearts that God is caring for us in an amazing way.

I'm hoping to use this blog to have somewhere to just write.. About our sweet kids, about the new things they are doing.. About the fun things and projects that we do.
